The enhanced benefit plan will address the mental health and substance use needs of juvenile justice involved youth and their families where the youth is diagnosed with SED and is at-risk for further penetration into the juvenile justice system (i.e. escalation for adjudicated youth and adjudication for pre-adjudicated youth). Detroit Wayne County Community Mental Health Authority ( D-WCCMH) will provide Medicaid funding to the CMH Managers of Comprehensive Provider Networks (MCPN). Children’s mental health agencies will deliver services. The mental health services provided under the enhanced benefit plan will be covered by Medicaid. Funding will improve services for youth; funding will not go to CMOs. The emphasis will be on home-based mental health services.
