Description
Refuse Disposal Authority
The constituent municipalities contract with the Authority to contract for refuse disposal of all refuse collected within their municipal systems and/or otherwise within their control. The Authority has the power to contract with any person, firm, corporation, public or private, for the performance of the disposal of waste excluding recyclables, yard waste, compost, refuse not in their control.
Joint Recycling Contract
The participating communities work together to contract services for the pickup and disposal of recyclables under one contract to achieve savings through economy of scale.
Savings:
$87,900 in estimated savings from loss of economy of scale. Difficult to compute since independent bids were not secured.
