In 2012, Center Line began participation in MiDEAL, which is an extended purchasing program that allows Michigan local units of government to use state contracts to buy goods and services. Through participation in the MiDEAL program, Center Line intends to reduce its cost for goods and services and eliminate the time needed to process bids.
In November, 2012, Center Line made its first MiDEAL purchase. The City saved several thousands of dollars on a $70,000 in-car video system purchase made under a MiDEAL contract with Kustom Electronics.
